Reviews for other scoops claim they have issues breaking at a weld joining the handle and scoop or the handles bend easily. While I have no experience with those scoops, it would take some serious abuse to do the same to the Norpro scoop.The Norpro scoop, as far as I can tell is one solid piece. There is no noticeable seam or welds anywhere. The handle is robust and does not bend easily. It does deflect when I intentionally try and bend it, but that constitutes abuse of the product. I've used the end of the handle to open tins of tea no problem. The back of the handle is stamped 2 Tablespoons so there is never any doubt the measure of the scoop. The handle is about 8in and easily reaches the bottom of coffee bags. Eight scoops does equal one cup so the 2 Tbsp marking is accurate. The Norpro scoop has minimal packaging.
